Bruins forward David Krejci in lineup after 10-game absence

NHL, Boston Bruins

BOSTON -- After missing 10 games because of an upper-body injury, Boston Bruins forward David Krejci was activated from injured reserve and in Thursday's lineup against the Vancouver Canucks.

Forward Frank Vatrano was assigned to Providence of the AHL to create a roster spot for Krejci.

A top-line center, Krejci was limited to 47 games during the 2014-15 season because of a lower-body injury. The Bruins missed the playoffs and Krejci vowed to play the entire season in 2015-16. Before his recent injury, Krejci was enjoying one of his best seasons as a pro, recording 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points in 35 games.

He has set a new personal goal upon his return.

"I missed 10 games, but now my goal is to play 70-plus games, and I can still do that if I play the rest of the season," Krejci said. "It would still be a successful year for me injury-wise."
