Getzlaf, Ovechkin and Forsberg named NHL's top stars for February

NEW YORK, - Forwards Ryan Getzlaf of the Anaheim Ducks, Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals and Filip Forsberg of the Nashville Predators were named the NHL's three stars for February on Tuesday.

Getzlaf was the first star after registering 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) and a plus-13 rating to lead Anaheim to a 12-1-1 record. The 30-year-old Regina native has nine goals and 42 assists in 57 games this season.

Ovechkin earned the second star after recording 12 goals in 13 games and leading league-leading Washington to a 10-4-0 record. The 30-year-old Moscow native has 40 goals in 59 games and also ranks first overall with 16 power-play markers.

Forsberg is the third star after also scoring 12 goals in 13 games as Nashville earned a 7-3-3 record. The 21-year-old Swede has 26 goals and 20 assists in 63 games.
