The sale of single-game tickets as well as three new ticket package options for the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship has been launched today.

This year’s women’s hockey highlight event will take place from 31 March to 7 April at USA Hockey Arena in the Detroit suburb of Plymouth.

Fans can purchase a Medal Round package, which includes tickets to both semi-final games, the bronze-medal game and the gold-medal game. In addition, fans have the opportunity to buy a Team USA or Team Canada package, both which include the three preliminary round games of each country. All packages will save fans at least 20% off the price of single game tickets.

“Our goal all along has been to make sure this is a family affordable event, and between the various packages that are available and the pricing of single game tickets, it’s a great opportunity for fans to come out for what very well could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Mike Bertsch, assistant executive director of USA Hockey. “It’s not often our country has a chance to host the best women’s hockey players in the world and the timing makes this extra special because less than a year after this event, fans will see most of the same players on television competing in the Winter Olympics.”

“It’s exciting to have the Women’s World Championship in our country and in particular, Michigan,” said four-time Olympian and Hockey Hall of Famer Angela Ruggiero. “I moved to Michigan in the mid-90s with my family and trained there in advance of our Women’s Olympic Team winning gold in ’98, so the state holds a special place in my heart. My family still resides in Michigan. It’s great for fans in the area and hopefully having the women’s world championship in greater Detroit will help influence the continued growth of girls’ and women’s hockey, particularly at the youth and collegiate levels.”

Tickets and packages can be purchased by clicking on Tickets in the menu on the official event website www.worldwomen2017.com. Tickets can also be obtained in-person at the USA Hockey Arena box office.
